Had a bad feeling about these, suddenly seemed to be loads of them about lately.

I have also noticed there seems to be a lot of NOS DC Hinged clamps in bags for sale. Not good there are fakes going around  .

Sorry Terry that was as clear as mud wasnt it 

I meant the 2 piece ones as well as the hinged ones you flagged up.
I thought they looked too crispy when i first saw them and a bit of sleuthing confirmed my suspicions

I bought a ligit one from Joe6--- from the museum a couple of months ago, he sells only quality gear, original from Japan , cost me £50.

I had a really good looking copy a while back , MX writing was very good, but was just too small to get the thread started so I sent it back.
the one pictured has good detailed writing but the 2 sections have a massive gap between them which means when you tighten it , all the clamping stress is on the pin and that's why it snapped.
