«

Hi guys! Can anyone help me to decipher the date codes (assuming these are the date codes) on these Zs?
Front rim
Rear rim
Both together
Thanks in advance!

I have 2 sets of early z-rims, and neither look like that, one is printed neatly and the other in white marker but is clear to read.
I see what you mean, not easy to tell the year with what you got.

Yeah, it's a tough one alright! Assuming it's a 3-part date code, it looks like a 2, possibly followed by a 1 (on a slant!) but I've no idea on the last one (year)!!

last one's strange ...... its deffo a letter, as iv'e seen a set with "8-18-B" (
http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=134495
), and another with one wheel "7-30-A" the other wwheel "7-30-B"
(
http://www.vintagebmx.com/community/index.php?&showtopic=27064717
). Also seen a set with "7-31-85" (
/>
....judging from this, the first should be MONTH, the second should be DAY, but stumped on the letter, because of that set with A
and
B

I was looking at one of my 80 z rims this morning and your date could be .
A = January
1 = 1st
2 = 82
as they tended to work backwards with the dates.

That sounds promising!
So did yours have the same type of stamping as mine?
Here are the replies I got on the Museum:-
