« on: February 18, 2014, 10:22 PM »
Know it's been going on a while, but the concrete's started flowing over at BSEs new park:

Well chuffed. Betterer than the fooked one that was there eh Edvard  :daumenhoch:

Pump tracks still staying as well but better surface. Big up to Hardcore Hobbies for sorting fundraising etc.

Nice one Rob - hope yours ends up good n'all - there's a tendancy (always has been) for local councils to put park jobs out to tender like they would do a road job etc - what ends up happening is some fookwit council approved company does it and they end up with a shite skatepark (like the one's in the South West in the 90's - all steel made, no run outs and frikkin lethal).

Cambridge is getting two such poopy parks completed by Easter allegedly. Fingers crossed for yours.

this is the company that won the bid for our new park.  They don't have a huge amount of space to play with but anything will be better than nothing!

http://freestyleskateparks.com/skatepark/xchemel

The local oposition councilor doesn't want the park built in the location that's been agreed and has already stated that it will only take one resident to complain about noise and it will be closed down and bulldozed.

I bet he can't wait to get someone to complain!   :tickedoff:

^^^  Opposition councillor keiran Thorpe?? Him and his whole family aren't happy unless they're arguing with someone!! The skatepark is an easy target for him. I'm sure the Town Inn pub gives more aggro and noise in one night than the skatepark would in a year!! It could've been put somewhere better but its far from the worst spot.

I'm working with Freestyle at the moment on a couple of projects. They've been using a new concrete blend recently which seems to be a little more grippy from new which is nice...

They have a good man out on site for them these days also (a rider) so you'd like to think his standards are high.

I work right across the road from this and can't wait to see what it looks like when finished.

My T1 Barcode should be finished soon so I think a few early morning sessions (before the kids get there and show me up) are in order! :daumenhoch:
