Bits You Regret Not Buying Off Here??
« on: April 30, 2014, 08:09 AM »
Over the years, I've snapped up some bargains off fellow RADsters on here, but there have also been some bits that I thought about dibbing or even dibbed, then changed my mind..... :-\

....and regretted it ever since.  :'(

2 that stick out for me are:

Chris (Jaan's) DB Silver Streak - I passed on this as I needed the cash for something shite like a holiday or something. It was stunning. Rich Clean got this, and really did it justice.  :smitten:
and,
CrazyCraig's Robbo that Sam got.

Both of these I dithered about with, and bottled it.  :-[

Has anyone else had some nice bits in their grasp off here, and regretted it later?  ???

Yep, Betty's red redneck stem that he literally gave away at mk last year, the minty rainbow comp3's that spen had. That's just off the top of my heed. Like everyone on here, I guess there's loads more bits....

I didn't have the cash (never have), I dibbed the frame set but at the price it was up for there was no chance it would ever come to that !!

3 stand out for me , all full bikes .  Moanjam Dean's Yellow Torker 280X , loved this bike but when it came up for sale i was skint  :(  Carl in2bmx was just getting into it and bought it and his Race Inc , both awesome bikes . Two years later the Yellow Torker was mine after Carl decided to sell . :)  2nd one was a Blue Hutch pro racer that Craig nabbed for a good price on here of one of the Dutch lads .  Three years later that was mine after Craig did me a good deal  :D  ...... and the one i missed out on was a 84 Haro sport that Glenboy snapped up as a complete .

Parts wise , the only thing i missed out on and was gutted was a set of NOS Black Suntour XC comp pedals that Chris (jaan) beat me to on a sale on here .

Mats complete Haro from a couple of months ago.  Again, ummed and ahhed and then had to put a second dib dobs on as it went.

Lovely bike that, and would've sold a few to make room

Way too much to list Dan, just way too much....  :'(

Usually it's brakes I end up needing, or bars. Bars scare the beejesus out of me the way the price has risen over the last few years and I usually hover over the keyboard, trying to justify buying them and BAM, someone has them......

I've even dibbed stuff for folks on here with wanted adds up for stuff, and then realised a week or two later I could really have done with them myself :idiot2:

To be fair though I would say the things I've bought on here, built and enjoyed riding far outwiegh the stuff I've missed :smitten:

I had forgotten about that Dan .... see there's another to add to the list  :D  Neither of us got that in the end  :( im sure the new buyer put it on ebay within a few weeks  ::)

Just thought of another , Jai put up a set of Haro Group1 cranks for about £100 and they obviously were snapped up pretty quick  ::)  Luckily i managed to snag a set through a good mate on here not too long after .

Your Patterson Dan (just didn't have the cash). Same with Jono's VDC Changa. To be fair, the changa sold really quickly, so
I didn't get the chance to dither over it

The Patty was dithered over for about 10 minutes, as it was after Christmas and I was skint, Tom allowed me to pay a deposit and held it for me or it would have been another to the regret list.  :daumenhoch:

I wish I'd stumbled across OSBMX on the 90s instead of spending my dollar on drink, drugs and my ex (the hippo).  :'(
