It is a Team Falcon Tioga Mini but has a gusset. These were available to Team riders. Check this one out (branded with Rhino Charge Decals): http://www.bloggingadeadhorse.com/images/bmx/hotfoot/falcon/FPB2_pg2.jpg

How do you know they are for Team riders only?  Is there any history with this one?

If i'm correctly informed, these are stickered up,for THE Team-Members only,Falcon never used Tange/Tioga for THE mass!
Was all About sales.....

The Tange / Tioga Frames were Falcon Team Issue but they might have been available to the public via bike shops perhaps in a kit form from Falcon. There's a shot of the Rhino charge on the back of the Falcon Catalogue but no price details or info so reads more like an ad. Nothing found on the Mini though. Sorry if my info was a bit confused on this Arno :-\

I wonder if the EO symbol could be something like an OEM Original Equipment Manufacture stamp?
Maybe Engineering Order. I guess Falcon would have dealt with Tioga who then dealt with Tange so it could have been a Tange Factory thing for Tioga ??? ;)

The taller Falcon riders did indeed ride the Rhino Charge stickered up as a Falcon as Falcon never produced a race worthy frame themselves; a bit like Raleigh in that sense. Jeff Bishop, Gary Fenwick and the Maw family all rode them. Jonty Maw still has his brother's, the late 3 times World Champion David Maw, bike that his lad rides on the Cleethorpes outing every year. It's a mini and looks very Tange. I can check next time I see him but I am sure it was built especially for David.

This came up a while back. Good bit of info. Same deal but without the HT gusset:

Spoke to Jonty Maw last week (he's the dude on the left on the team photo) and he said he has 3 NOS Tange mini frames in his garage. They never made frames specifically for the team they were off the shelf Tange frames.

Nick work Nick :daumenhoch:

I suspect they were made for Tioga who then supplied them to Falcon. I haven't seen one yet that's cropped up for another brand like a other Tange frames so it might be safer to say they were an off the shelf Tioga product rather than Tange but I hear what you're saying. It's not like they were custom built for the Falcon team ;)

The diamond stamp does seem to be unique to these Mini frames though (seen on both versions, with and without the small head-tube gusset). Still no idea what that was all about ???

I'd love to see Jonty's memorabilia from BITD. Would make a great thread :coolsmiley:
