ok i give in, its a while ago
« on: August 16, 2006, 11:27 PM »
stumbled on a couple of sites and ive been dragged into my past.
We where once a fully fledged bmx family.
every weekend from 80 - 90
Parents, gordon, jackie vine, dad referee, mum call up marshall.
mostly NBMXA midlands & nationals
i was at every major bmx event from anglo american in 81, halfords thingy at nec 82 ,
picketts lock, earls court,  all british champs at greyhound stadium, pontins, slough worlds we didnt miss a big one
i gave in to beer, fags & birds in 89, 90
How i wish i had carried on longer
Now my 4 year old  little lad seems intent on getting a little rad so maybe need to find him a track  soon
i have a lot of photos from bitd will post soon . i am 34 now so was in the age bellow Dale
rode regular with  jon western, the jmc guy on this site
my local tracks where redditch, bromsgrove, cocksmoor, perry park, sennelys, malvern, hereford.
Would love to track down a few old faces from my age group, I think i did ok some years no.3 national in 83 regualar top 5 / 6 regionals
Jeesee what a time we all had,
bmx ruled then, It probably still should
Respect to those who carried on, i wish i where amongst you.

Welcome aboard, I`m sure there will be guys on here that know you  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Vine family VERY well known in the Mids region.
A names that have been thought of over the years but not heard for a while!
