we all know primo hit the uk in 94 with the v monster and everything from then on etc...

but what about before 94 when they were mainly a race parts company founded in 1990 in the USA by the distributors called tip

what were they making from 90-93???

They basically started out buying up old stock and catalogue parts in Taiwan and rebranding it. The frames, cranks, and hubs were all catalogue stuff. I don't think it was very successful at first, however after Greg Walsh got involved the focus shifted to freestyle and they became more successful after that. Based on Gregs input they started making more of their own stuff (still in Taiwan), and it went from there.

Are you specifically talking about the race hubs? I cant remember exactly who it was, but seem to recall Scott Yoquelet or Robbie Miranda riding for their race team. I think Robbie Morales may also have had a short stint on the race team. Pretty sure their race jerseys were white / black / green. Its all a bit of a blur  :LolLolLolLol:

Will dig out some snap mags and see if I can find some pics and proper info.

Primo hubs:

I've got a feeling these hubs were made at the same place as the GT and DK ones, early 90's I think..They were all variations of the same design.

What year were Tenderizers knocking about ?

The version with the 4 grooves showed up around 95. Super Tenderizers (3 grooves and thicker body) was about 97 I think.

The first Tenderisers were three groove - and looked yanky, from '95:

Then the four groove came out in the same shape they are now called Super Tenderizers in around 96, think it was eithr late 97 or 98 that the three groove ST's came out.

Ah yes those first ones were terrible. I don't think anyone I knew could bring themselves to ride them.  :LolLolLolLol:

I think 4 slots were out in 95. Matt Gibson was riding them in his part in "HC Sick flatland" and Im pretty sure that was filmed during 95.

4 Slots also look similar to the later 3's but are actually very different. So much so that no parts are interchangeable between the two. I actually think the 4 slots were better pedals but the spindles were very skinny. :daumenhoch:

Hard Core Sick Flatland came out 1997  :daumenhoch:

Here's the Ride June 1996 New Stuff showing the original yanky piles of crapola - they came out in late '95 in the States:

First mention of the Super T's is late '96 with most shops selling em as coming soon.

Agreed though on all Tenderizer accounts - always though they were slippy as fook  :daumenhoch:

Nice one fella's. Looking for early 90's pedals for riding but the slippy as fook comment sums em up.  "nono"
I'll keep looking.  :daumenhoch:
