Hi All,
Was on here a sometime back, I think under a different name (whyterider), been back now for a little while so thought now that I am building I would say Hi. I am hoping to join one of the London or other rides in the South East this year when I have completed my first project.
Like many others I was riding BMX back in the 80's, started off an a Burner, then found DP Firebirds and had a standard Firebird, then a freestyler followed by a Delta II which for some bizarre reason I sold (hindsight eh!?). I could usually be found at "
The Hills and The Mountains" in Burgh Heath, Surrey which some of you on here may have been familiar with!?
Since then I dabbled with Motocross in my teens and then found myself more at home on a Mountain Bike which is where I have been ever since. BMX however has never been too far from my thoughts and in about 2006(ish) I bought a couple of used 24" bikes to test the water, the first a GT, followed shortly after by a Floval Flyer (both new school).
Now (last summer in fact) I have got my hands on another DP Firebird Delta II after a long search
, which I have been busily collecting components for over the last 9 months, just stripped it down last night from how I bought it and the polishing etc begins (post in Tech and Restoration).
Look forward to meeting some of you guys and gals on a Ride and chatting through here with others.
