I was about to dive in singing Mark at Impressive Finish's praises, but reading the link it looks like he doesn't do the smoked superchrome finish any more :-\

I'd give him a bell in case as his work was great - he did both my Pro-Class Geese :4_17_5:

http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,104773.0.html

The Mini Pro-Class was done by crazy Neil Arcus (N2Cus) but he doesn't do BMX resto anymore :'(

(cue the stories about the silver van of death, the 4am club, dying Tuffs in his white plastic bath, polishing to within an inch of it's life and his tasty missus in the bikini shots in his house - I miss Neil :2funny:  :2funny: )

I cant seem to find this fella's contact details about this black superchrome, although I'm prob boy looking and its staring me right in the face! Can anyone help?

Yup, black superchrome is correct. The company I found had a perfect match for it.

Are the grips that came with it in good condition?

Not too sure what year yours is (the one I did was a MkII anyway so different to yours), but here's a spec list from 1984 which might help. You can find others online if you have a hunt. Reproduction padsets and decals are all available.

I do like the MkI Burners I must admit. I am sure a fair few on here started out with Burners BITD.

I still have my original MkII SuperTUFF Burner, and my first resto was a MkI Ultra Burner. I'll try to dig out some pics  :daumenhoch:

Just wondered if you could point me in the right direction for your paint guy?

Unfortunately the grips don't seem to the originals, looks like the hunt will be on!!!

Can anyone recommend a decent Dremel or other branded tool for polishing? Seems to be a few out there so just wondered if there was a "best buy"

Those grips are spot on for you Night Burner resto :daumenhoch: getting them in that good of a quality is pretty hard these days...

I restored a MK2 Night Burner a few years back know (its long since been sold know) and I had the whole frame, forks and bars rechromed before the superchrome was laid down...The super chrome was done by Mark Roles (Impressiv finishes) but last i heard he doesn't do the Nightburners anymore because basically his supplier cannot get the correct stuff anymore (saying that that was a few years back he maybe able to get it know I don't no ?)

My Night Burner MK2....

All parts were restored by either rechrome,re-annodise and repaint the only NOS part on this bike were the pedals  ;)

Speaking of decals, where's the best place to get some and the pad set?

The best pad sets you can get for your Night Burner would be off a guy called Steve Dobson (Esemdesign) I think that Steve come on here under the forum name 'Firebird'

Here's Steve's link for the padsets,

http://www.esemdesign.co.uk/

The best quality Raleigh Burner decals you can buy are from Jonny Abbot (Bmxman). His decals are spot on and far superior to many decal sets that are on Ebay...

Here's Jonny's link for decal sets,

http://www.bmxman.com/
