Ask Rolf Harris, he can tell the age of things by touch alone.

So whats the easy way to tell a 'modern' Skyway as opposed to an '89 'Plastic Hub (front, rear f/w)'?

Modern are sealed hubs I think and the modern ones have a little hole in one of the spokes

sealed hub tuffs came much later 2006 I think
looseball runs of black and white tuffs in 2001 and 2004
these have a little date wheel on one of the spokes with 01 or 04 respectively
not aware of any stamping before that but skyway didn't stop making them to my knowledge so really hard to be exact on tuffs between the years that skyway stopped the serial numbers on the rim ( that wore off in a week ) and the introduction of the above date stamp and of course sealed bearing
2006 runs of coloured sealed bearing tuffs had std sized axles and no fleccie holes
the new ones have fleccie holes and huge front axles

don't shoot me if the above is wrong as its just what I have experienced  :-*

Skyway usually write the year on the inside of the rim in a marker pen...

Some had "Made in England" stamped on them too... around 1984 when they went for plastic front hub I think  ;)
