1. stainless
2. alloy
3. mild steel.

if they were mild steel, surely they would rust unless they were annodized, which is impossible when they are fitted to the nylon.

stainless- no rust, but dear for a business material.

Aluminium- my guess, but ive never stripped one, so it is a guess...is aluminium strong enough?

They r hard stainless as far as I know . Hard 2 drill and don't rust

They're definitely stainless like Steve says ... I've got an original NOS rivet here somewhere if you need a pattern

Damn that is gonna make it hard to pein over then isnt it. stainless can shatter if too much schock is applied, which is why its not recommended for rebuilding suspension components.
Ill have a go and see what happens.

i have rivets for sale and i also own an original skyway rivet machine so i can redo them like new

Both, bought it to repair all my own. Plus its cool to have old school tools as well as parts.
Yes i will gladly re-rivet for a small fee any tuffs that people want
Shipping is the limiting factor as im in Australia.

Whats the going rate and turn around time for a set of Tuffs to have a hub riveted in?

I've a mate in LA who's back in Australia once a year (i'm East coast US) and i'll give him my Tuffs to bring over.

$20Au per wheel if flanges are already removed or $50 per wheel if i remove them
plus what ever shipping cost are
i prefer no axles or guts get sent to me its lighter to ship with out and it means i cant lose parts

i dont suppose you have any rear hubs knocking about in that massive pile do you? Ive just had a set of tuffs aqua blasted, they look mint now but im missing a hub.
