T1 Barcode build list - nearly got everything
« on: February 17, 2014, 11:53 AM »
build list so far

MAAS built 21" barcode
Odyssey dirt classic 41 thermal forks
Flybikes 2 piece crank
Odyssey PC pedals
Deluxe XL bars
Fly Mosca Stem
Odyssey Intac post
Odyssey mini seat
Federal 39t chainring
Sun BFR rims on 10mm race hubs (going to mask off and spray the blue spokes black)
Prolite seat clamp
Dirt harry lever

wheels have a shadow undertaker tyre front and maxxis grifter rear at the moment but I would really like to use my old favourite combo of dirt monster front and v monster rear

also need a u brake and cable and some T-1 decals then I'll have everything.  looking forward to my build

Just putting the finishing touches to a 2001ish T1 barcode myself, so looking forward to seeing your pics.  :daumenhoch:

Have managed to get the head-tube sticker sorted but finding it tricky to get the barcode sticker, only place
I can find them is on the actual T1 site.

Was going to be running a 13-36 gearing set-up but after getting all the parts realised this combo would not
work with the position of the brakes (more or less touching)  >:( >:(  so it's back to the drawing board.

I ran the T1 in my profile pic with 36 13 and the chain dragged ever so slightly on the brake.  I didn't keep it for long so it didn't matter as it git split for sale.
There's a seller on ebay who has all sorts of t1 decals except the bar code so I think I will be having just the head tube badge and then the T-1 decals on the top tube near the seat

Contacted the ebay guy, said he has some of the barcode stickers on order but they are long overdue, hopefully
they will turn up soon.

Based on your experience, do you reckon I'd get away with a 39-14 gearing?

What colour frame have you got, I've had mine powder coated in gloss black, and it does look bloody good with the
white decals. :daumenhoch:

39 14 no probs I'm having 39 16 until I sort out either a 15th freewheel or new wheels.

My frame is rawed but just needs some final going over and then I'll be leaving it like that.  Colour scheme is raw frame, black parts and white brake, cable and lever to complement white decals

I have an AC racing 15t freewheel, fits larger sized hub threads.
It will be ok for most things but will wear out quickly if you're a thrasher or a heavy rider. I used one on my track/trails bike for a while until i changed to a flipflop hub, then it went on my lads bike and it's been sound on that.
I Heard about potential reliability issues when i got it so i bought 2. You can have the unused one, unopened packaging,
£25 posted.
And get some pics up of your bike!!

Good one. It's nice to have new wheels on, bmx city are top lads too. Wheelsets are excellent value from them.

Sorry not had time, just started a new job this week but hope to do a bit of building this weekend, now that I've got my CK crown race through from wiggle.
