I think John would struggle in 40+ today Kev. I used to race the guy behind E20 Brian Neville at club races and beat him easily. I know that i was 18 at the time and he was about 45-46, but i can't even make regional finals in 40+ now.

I remember that day well, Shawn Texas was there riding for CW, massive bloke, he was driving a rented XR3i. i have phots somewhere with Greg Hill, Mike Miranda, Eddy King. Raleigh had there Quarter pipe leaning on there truck, Andy Ruffell and Mick Brown were doing TV stuff as the UK pro`s were on strike!!. happy days

I dropped out of BMX in 1986 but if I'd been living down South and gone to watch the Worlds I might not have.

I was there at slough  :daumenhoch: awsome day.Got some of the finals on a video which i taped of the telly few weeks later.

Great days - got knocked off in the quarters by a french man, and second in the pre-worlds a week before behind Andy Welsh, who won the week after!. A few of us Hounslow boys bunked off school for about a week to help build that track. Great pictures.

Lee Shurey and I went there to watch in his Triumph Stag; I had the biggest hangover ever and spent most of the time asleep in the car  :D
