Suede seat cleaning/resto help needed...
« on: February 25, 2014, 04:19 PM »

Just picked up this suede turbo saddle, it's a little faded here and there but no tears or scuffs. Does anyone know a good method to restore the colour to a nice deep even black? I cleaned it with suede shoe stuff, a solventy aerosol. It got the storage grime off and went a nice colour when damp, but when it dried completely the colour faded back again. I was thinking of cold-dyeing it black and hopefully not damaging whats left of the logos.
What's my best bet?

I like it as it is too, those suede seats went like that after a just a wee bit of use.

Cold dye is messy old stuff and will come off on your kecks too, I know a fella who used to buy cheap Caterpillar rip-offs that only came in honey so he dyed them black and ruined all his white sports socks.   :pilky:
