Are you getting too old 20's?
« on: February 10, 2014, 09:51 PM »
It seems that everywhere you turn at the moment, someone is building or getting into 24's. On here and the Museum, all that is for sale is 24" stuff. Heck, even Haro have are trying to flog you a 24.

Are you really too old for 20's?

**PS Nothing against what you are doing Nick, just wanting to know why everyone wants a cruiser**

Nah, its just a fad, been there, done that, they'll all be cheap again in the autumn!!

Theres no more room in the driving seat, and newer cruisers are just as low as a 20", just a longer wheelbase, and what does that bring??

I just never had the inclination to get into cruisers back then or now and can't see the big thing about them.

Could the price of 20's stuff plummet while 24's stuff rises rapidly  :D   :)

$800 for the spoked Haro and $1000 for the Tuff's Haro  :uglystupid2:

24" Cruisers are just that, Cruisers to cruise around on as such are much more comfortable to ride than a 20". They look cool as fook too, I have a few on my wanted list.

But they weren't Adam. They were produced for racing for the 'taller' riders and are such, race bikes.

A feckin right twat to get tyres for.........  :yahoo_silent: I've got a lovely set of green/yellow comp 3's, may have to trade them which i do not want to do.

Anyhow..................

My last build so i thought i'd do something different.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

Would have done more damage dropping those in WWII but doubt they would have had a plane to lift the fookers  ;D

24s have never been BMX to me, kind of skewed the ethos when they first started to appear (IMO) hated them. Can be lovely to ride tho and the extra gyroscopic stability can deffo build confidence and I don't blame anyone getting back into it going for a 24 if it gets em riding.

o/s cruisers builds are part n parcel of the hobby, like minis, n good to see. I only ever built one, never fixed a chain to it n stripped n sold it in a week, did not float my boat and as such could not bring myself to ride it.

20s for riding all the way for me, further to fall from a 24  :LolLolLolLol:
