MK - how to? A Grommets Guide!
« on: February 10, 2014, 02:21 PM »
Can someone give me the heads up on MK?

How does it all work - do you just pitch up, set up your own tent and set your bikes out, put your bikes in a common tent, is there a program, what are the cards hanging on the handlebars?

I don't really need a guide on The Dog and Duck. I've fully understood that from reading through here!
When I was born, the world was a far simpler place.
It was all just cops and robbers.
And BMX.

Ok mate, all you need to do is:

Arrive on Sat from 7am, pitch your tent, open a beer, put your bikes out in from of your tent in a nice display, along with any parts you may be selling. There maybe some group tents down at the arena eg, Brett's British Freestyler tent, last year. Keep having beers and mooch about the helipad and show arena looking at other people's bikes n shoite. Have more beers, then prepare for the lake ride (put your bikes away), then you can guess the rest for Saturday.

Sunday is far more laid back. If you want to go racing, you can pre register and have a go, or you may want to get involved in the show and shine, this is where the tickets are placed on handlebars showing category and entry number.

Hope this helps mate?

I typed an answer, but Dan's eager fingers beat me to the post :teef:

bring bog roll, hand sanitiser, money for bike bits in case you find a bargain and beers come in handy too (last year the D&D was free but people still donated booze to help keep it stocked up, it was beautiful)
please clear up your own rubbish - a skip is provided for you to put your rubbish bags in

Thanks for all this Fellas. I've got the strong beer, the drinking chair, a hair piece, seen some other posts about bring as many bikes as possible - I'd love to bring all 6 of mine, never shown them, but how safe is it? Supposing I need a sheeeeeaat? do I look 'em up or pack in the truck? I wouldn't bring the wife so the best guard is gone?

Also, I've see on the photos from last year that some of the bikes have what looks like a build card?
