Hi all at Rad
I rode a bmx for the first time today, about 5 mins as its chucking it down. I bought the bike yesterday from e-bay and I've changed the bottom bracket bearings and the brake pads. I adjusted the steering bearings and now we're good to go. The bike is a 2011 wethepeople crysis and it looks completely standard and awesome,
I live in Stroud and went to Rush skate-park for the first time for the silver surfers evening last Friday, as i'm 51 years old and am a complete bike junkie. I went to rush on my d/j bike which i finished building just before I went there, anyway I made a bad choice with gearing for my d/j bike as i had robbed the gears from my Inspired Fourplay street-trials bike (which I've been riding for about a year). So if anybody saw me peddling like a madman, apologies. My first time in a skate-park wasn't a complete disaster and I managed to nail a few moves that got me grinning like an idiot. The thing that struck me was the very high standard of riding and I want some.
I suspect that most people start with a bmx then progress to a d/j bike, then an mtb and finish on a road bike. mmmmm......
I really have no idea about how to ride a bmx or skate-park. In trials riding I got lots of good advice from the Ryan Leech video and the Trashzen website, anything like that for bmx or do I need to watch the spotty gits on you tube.
Anyway I'm signing off now, all replies appreciated . Albevent.
