lovin this thread... this is where my back ground lies-engineering. I'd have a bash, but I blew the motor up on my bench drill, but can't find anywhere to repair it down in south Oxfordshire. I so want to re create the Hutch stem on the 83 Pro Star.

Hmmm that dont sound good.

Can you not get an off the peg motor that will fit like Machine mart stock or is it integral to the machine?

What make is it?

Try these bro. Speak to Mick Robson or Devon Francis and say Terry has put you onto them. I used to rewind motors for them back in the 90's

no idea on make of drill or motor... used to belong to my ex girlfriend's dad.. keen to get it sorted, as I know this sucker is sooo accurate(he's a tool maker)

WELL worth sorting. Lets put it this way.. if you google "joseph merlin band clock".. he made one of these on it... won 1st @ the model engineers exhibition back in the late 80's

Actually used an old woodwork surform. Takes off nice mini shavings and doesn't get the Ali too hot like a sander can
