2nd time noob - Hello Again!
« on: January 21, 2014, 10:21 PM »
Hello again, was a member on here some years ago but god knows what happened to my old ID. So now I'm back, from outer space, I just walked into find you here with that rad look upon your face..
Anyway, back on track, Got my 85 Master off a member on here about 5 yrs ago and have only used it a handful of times couple of charity runs etc but now it seems I have been cajoled into the London to Brighton in June on said 85 Master...
Need to re engage, get parts, get motivated, get less fat and get on with it!
Already drooling over the bikes on here, Haro's the favourite (my ride as a kid) but loving PK Rippers, Quadangles, Skyway & Kuwahara oh and everything else of course... I'm off for a mooch around the site!

My 4th mid life crisis below (if the pic post works!):- btw if anyone knows what this is worth now I would be interested to know, its not for sale but I'd quite like to know roughly what I'm risking on my 'ride to doooooooooom'!

Haro Master Frame & Forks 1985  S/N: 85113404
Hatta MX100 Silver Headset

Odyssey Dynatron OPC BB Set
Sugino 1 Peice Crank
Sugino Spider
44T Tuffneck Chainring
KHE Stimulatorz
Izumi Chain

White Skyway Tuffs
Shimano DX 16T Freewheel
Haro Freestyle Tyres

White Dominator Pro Saddle
Renthal Layback Seat Post
DiaCompe Hinged White Seat Post Clamp

welcome back (and nice haro :)  )

If you're doing L2B on that I have a couple of slight mods to suggest

get a padded gel seat cover
swap your pads for some that will work well enough on tuffs (clear squeaky ones from the Rad Shop managed to stop me at the bottom of one of the hills when the lights changed suddenly)

that ditchling beacon is a bastard :teef:
nice view though  :daumenhoch:

Yep, Ditchling beacon is tough. I managed it on a road bike in a september charity ride, somehow. if you're doing it in June you'll probably have to walk it due to the sheer number of riders.

Thanks for the tips Griff, much respect to anyone who has mastered this feat of utter lunacy.
I have the seat cover from my road bike and padded shorts too, which still wont be enough!
Will look for pads as braking on mine is not great. I did the ride a few years ago on a road bike and managed to ride the beacon (only just).. really not looking forward to it.. There better be cold bloody beer in Brighton!

I'll probably have to walk it due to the fat overweight nature of my Danny DeVito-esque physique! but I'll happy blame traffic :)
