Powerlite would be era correct, the profile isn't and it would drop the bars by about an inch without a spacer fittedStick with the powerlite ed
Only the ultra-cool use a Powerlite stem Ed, here is mine on my Auburn....
Ed, they made the 1" Powerlite stem from 90 all the way upto 95, in 95 they also produced a 1 1/8" stem.So good for both our bikes (mine is a 1990).

In my experience Auburns were pretty tough bits of kit. A number of my friends had them BITD, and I never saw one crack. One buddy in particular rode trails on his (and raced every weekend) and it never skipped a beat. The other two only raced theirs, but either way, all 3 were sound bikes.
