Hello everyone, my names Eddie im 46. I used to bmx heavily in the early 80`s like many of you on this forum, gave up in 85 to pursue scratch dj`ing which i still do. After deciding to give my 80s bmx a clean up for its 30th birthday, (been sat under me stairs too long) i came across your website (goldmine!!), i have a 1984 curtis pro, started out on a raleigh burner, added more and more good parts then eventually bought the curtis.
it has mx 1000`s, gt performer bars, hutch deep h stem potts modded, tuff neck chain ring and seat clamp, kashimax aero, renthal post, sr hubs, araya 7x rims, dx pedals etc.
Frame is ok, ish. looks good at first glance, needs re chroming if honest though which i intend to do in the near future. Wheels are getting re spoked, parts are all in either decent (scuff damage) to near mint condition , but the hutch stem needs stripping and polishing as do the dx pedals, one of which ive already done.
I also have a 97 mongoose dmc team (brought back from the us) which belongs to my old bmx mate who now lives in the u.s. and i have a trek vert 3 i got given which im gonna respray to doss about on if i get back into riding (seriously thinking of doing) Both Fkin tanks tho compared to Curt!
will post pics of em when i get round to it, I could do with some advice on certain resto stuff that i`ll ask later.
So thats my brief rant, once again congrats on an awesome website folks!
Eddie

Cheers for the welcome Gashead, ill post pics soon as, (in bits at mo) it looks very similar to one you posted a pic of, said one of the first you built.
Also, one of my mates had a custom square aluminium tube frame he had built in 83/4 ish, he sent it bmx action bike mag?? (that right?) to test and Sid if i remember his name correctly snapped it!! lol, mate was gutted.
I also had a letter published in same mag once. Got some old 80s pics about somewhere too.
If i ever find em ill post them too.
Thanks Again.

Nice Pic lol, it was under the bmx bi weekly curtis review post, you put a pic of Brian Curtis underneath. Mine has red hubs, post clamp, stickers, black/silver everything else tho.
You look uncannily like me BITD in that picture!!! had me a bit perplexed for a min. WTF lol.
I also will need a new sticker kit in red at some point.
