Author Topic: Dia Compe 1986 - Has anyone seen MX1000 or MX900 from this year? (Read 417 times)

Afternoon chaps,

I can find every year MX1000 but not 1986. According to a post in the Museum they ran 1977 -1986, yet the reference picture is an 83 with a weird 89 arm.

I was looking for either 900 or 1000 and Tech 3 or 4, but I have not even seen a picture of anything from 86. I have 85 coming out of my ears...

So.......

My question is - do they exist? If they do I will keep trying to sniff some out!

I have an mx1000,pinky/purple colour,pretty sure that colour didn't come out till 86

Cool - that is the first ever one I have ever (not) seen.

So they do exist!

Now need to find front and rear.

Nothing is simple with building these things!

A lot of the neon ones where previously anno, I have a set of arms that were originally pink or green and turned out to be black underneath, IIRC they were 85.

Don't think they are in 86 catalogue, sure the greens, pinks etc are all painted and previously silver or anno underneath

Just done a major search and all those claiming to be 86 - are actually 85 (MX1000 / MX900).

Not related to your year but the earliest one I've had/seen is a 9 79, pretty sure they weren't around in 77.

After some searching - it shows that in 1986 you could get the MX1000. Seems it was replaced by models they wanted you to get which leads me to think that they will be stamped 1985.
