Hiya fellas, been rubbing away at a frame today only got slight surface rust here n there & mainly around the welds. Soaked in wd40 overnight & found my tin of peek given it a good stir up & it doesn't seem to be working like it used to !!!!!

You might just need to use something a bit more effective on the rust like oxalic or citric acid or even some lemon juice or vinegar with a bit of aluminium foil.

Yo Rich..... I have sworn by this stuff on any chrome, nickle frame to remove rust and grime and its never let me down..... apply... leave for 2 hours and soft greeny sponge type scourer and it eats rust......

Gel stuff is best....

Beats Oxi bath mate... just used it on nickle goose.... if you want pics PM me....  :daumenhoch:

Autosol may be a diiferent chemical make up and is more abrasive so will remove some rust.

Peeks crap for rust removal should still polish OK though, try some on a bit of alloy if the cloth goes black and it shines your peek is fine.

Shouldn't go off.

Once I'd got the rust off I gave it a peeking & it's really come up  :)
Like you say the rust must of been too tough for peek alone
Thanks for the advice  :daumenhoch:
