Nottingham Ride - Burners Going Home 2014
« on: January 08, 2014, 05:42 PM »
Nottingham ride on 1st March 2014. All old school bikes welcome but it would be great to see as many Burners as possible as we are going to visit the former Raleigh headquarters, for a Burner homecoming and photoshoot.

Meeting at Nottingham Station at 11am.

I'm really up for this. Haven't been to Nottingham for years! Afraid I haven't got a Burner anymore but could come on my Commando! Hahhah

Here is the route, it takes in some great riverside pubs with plenty of space for bikes and of course the former Raleigh headquarters for a homage and photo op.
Meet at Nottingham Station, Carrington St Entrance.
Call into the legendary Bunny's bike shop.
Up to the Canal House for a pint.
Over to Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem, supposedly the oldest pub in England.
Up to the home of the Burner, the former Raleigh headquarters, for a photo shoot.
Maybe then?... Sadly it's a myth that there are four girls for every man in Nottingham! :'(
Down to The Waters Edge Pub for Dinner.

Then down to the Victoria Embankment Park for a ride around the river then a final call in at the Riverbank Bar.
Then a short ride back up to the station from there.

It's a dirty Be-otch from the back of BMX Bi-Weekly circa 1983. That's how long the ride has been in the planning!

We did this exact ride a couple of years ago for halloween, minus the embankment - it ended with me, Glynn, Russ and Daz having a sesh. Nottingham's a good night out lads  :4_17_5:

I'm in.

Ok, I've had some interest in making some T-Shirts so I'm gonna get some printed. They will cost £20 each because they use more than one colour. If you want your name on the back it'll be £22. Get your orders in by this Saturday because they take a week to come back from the printers. Paypal me the money to browningnet@gmail.com.

Can anyone help me out with parking ? I presume there's some at the station ?
Looking for somewhere decent where it won't end up on bricks, and where I won't need a second mortgage, if poss.
thanks
