Odyssey Sprocket Pocket Question
« on: December 07, 2013, 07:26 AM »
Has anyone ever used an Odyssey Havok Sprocket Pocket with a 3 piece crank?

Ive put the sprocket pocket onto an oddy torque converter and a GT chainring and it looks as though it will only be able to support a 1 piece crank?

Any pics of your setup would be awesome :)

Hmmm thats definitely not something I wanna do as the pocket is pretty mint.

I didnt realise they couldnt naturally take a 3 piece :(

what crank are you running?

i think u may get away with a redline flight crank arm as they are quite square and flat

pretty sure u cant use a profile crank arm unless you cut the pocket sprocket due to the arm being more round

You might have guessed...Profile lol.

Maybe if I space it out slightly from the powerdisc then it might clear the pocket bolt? Ill give it a try anyway.....doh!

You've gotta cut it Gav to use it with a Profile arm. If you space it the sprocket bolt needs spacing as well (that is if it'll reach). If it's just a show bike then space away, if you're gonna ride it cut the Sprocket Pocket :)

If you get a power disc that has the crank bolt hole exactly in the middle of two chain ring bolts (rather than the normal slightly offset ones) then it fits better and you don't loose a SP bolt by cutting  :daumenhoch:

Damn it lol.

Its for the WAL so I guess I can always go for an OPC.....even Ron ran an OPC on his WAL back in the day so it may be ok to choose that as an easy option.

All I would ever do is lightly ride it/roll it around as it took me too long to find it to consider breaking it lol.

Appreciate your advice though chaps  :daumenhoch:

I might put the Profiled on the Big Daddy instead....which will definitely be a rider! :)

if your only lightly riding it then id try to source a mtb profile axle as they are longer and profile also do longer sprocket bolts, then just space it out

aslong as your not cranking it everywhere it will be fine :daumenhoch:

it needs to be cut for redline 401s, had one on my standard lengthy.
