Araya restoration/polishing?

Hi,

Thinkin of strippin some araya 20 x 1.75 silvers n polishin em up any tips/advice greatly appreciated.  If this has been covered before please post me a kick up the butt n point me in the right direction ;D  If nobody has covered this maybe I could take some pics n post up a mini how-to?

Bump!!!  C'mon kids I got a can of nitromors mousse here n I am itching to give em a go please give me sound advice before I go getting medieval on their a55 n make a right mess   :crazy2:

you need oven pride mate!!!
they sell it in tescos

its caustic, and will remove annodising, but not as vicious as caustic soda

with some oven pride these hubs, originally red, and rims, that were black, came up a treat, there is also about 1/2 hr put into those bits in polishing on the buffer and by hand

Thanks for all this guys, is there anything else I should know, or is it just a case of follow the destructions on the box?

1) all the things you need to strip anno + safety goggles
2)drop item in caustic using gloves
3)leave item in caustic for about 30 secs until it starts to bubble, then check & repeat process if anno remains
4)once all traces of anno have gone rinse in clean water to neutralise,it may turn black but this will clean off with a scotch bright
5)then all thats left to do is polish,best done with a bench polisher then finish by hand

sweet lookin bits, only got an elbow grease polsiher though in the words of scott "I may be some time"
