Auburn fork rake
« on: November 15, 2013, 02:42 PM »
Just got a Auburn f&f frame the states that was a bargain... but did the forks have quite a lot of rake on?

To be frank, the ones I have look bent forward... like someone had pancaked a landing.

Will do some pics later. .. . just wondered if anyone knew  :daumenhoch:

They look pretty straight in the pic Ed.....have they landed yet for you to inspect further?  There looks to be a slight rake judging by the steer tube but nothing to worry about  :daumenhoch:

Just get your fat arse in the saddle and ride at the wall  :slayer: that will adjust your rake  :daumenhoch:

I don't know what the detachable rear triangle is supposed to be for on those Auburns, but I do think they look funky
But if you want a real ride forget Auburn and go GINGER  :teef:

The thinking behind the removable rear triangle was to be able to put different length rear ends on the bike for different tracks.

No, it was just an idea that never worked or they never bothered with.  I think though that the aluminium rear end was a different length to the Chro-moly rear end (early models had the Chro-mo rear end).

They definitely dont have rake on them. All the ones you see with raked forks are just bent ones. If you need forks put right, I know a guy, who knows a guy, if you know what I mean.  ;)  :LolLolLolLol:

To be fair my guy uses a block of wood and a car jack.  :LolLolLolLol: But at least he takes the forks off the bike before he works on them.  ;D
