On a Shimano Hub with the quick release cog - just need to know which way around the parts go

so cog side pointing right - plastic spacer - then cog (curve to outside or in ?) the clip - is that right ?  ???

any pic's would help

and I take it that the design allows it to rattle a bit ?

 :) Shouldn`t rattle-the cog should be pretty snug.Plastic spacer on first,then cog then lockring.You can buy placcy spacers in 2.5mm or metal ones in 1,1.5 or 2mm if you need to perfect the chainline.
