Okay, I know this says timeline of 'mountain bike' components and accessories but, in it you will find a number of references to components that were used on BMX too.
For example, the first reference to Pooch's question regarding the Selle Italia Turbo dates back to 1987:-

I find it a good source to date some parts and wondered if we should 'sticky' it
