Show us your very first BMX...
« on: November 02, 2013, 10:13 AM »
OK, so its probably been done before, but I love seeing the old ratty first BMX that kicked things off for everyone, and probably became the reason you are reading this right now.  I'm sure there will be a few who got a cool bike straight off the bat, but post up a pic whatever it was.  Doesn't have to be the exact bike you owned, could be a photo BITD or now.  Whatever.

I'll start it off with a POS I got in 84, aged 11.  Lasted a year, weighed a fair bit but fook I had some fun on it, and it took me on a path I'm still on.......Ladies and Gents, the Iron Horse Alien.  Mine had slightly less crap mags in the the form of Acorns.  Only one I have ever seen come up on eBay, so had to have it  :D

This is me (at the back) on my first bike. Aero. That's it Aero...nothing else.

And here's me on my second bike (middle of picture black helmet white peak). Redline 500a.

Who wants to ride with Eddie Fiola?

Nice Nick, that's what I'm talking about! I wonder how many of us got a much better BMX by hook or crook within a year of a 5hitter?

NO WAY My mate had this exact bike !!!! We thought it was light as fook at the time & it had those exact same wheels on it ! I loved the colours & the decals just knew it as an Alien couldnt remember the brand. I love this !

Heres mine 1982 ( I think)       Marlborough Zapper ZR-S Team.

1982 Team Playway Trak Trail, mudguards removed and Kashimax Aero added.

Got this after that...

...1985 Piranha Freestyler

...had a Fox 4 Styler then, and one of those 'Aero's that Swan Gay had. :daumenhoch:

That's the one, and yes Dan, I did love everything about the bike until the gold started peeling off all over the place.

Back then Adam, chrome was rarity around my way and the only reason I went for this model was to peel the gold off  :daumenhoch:

My bro had a Raleigh Bomber in blue and it done same thing, that's how we knew we could strip the Burner   ;D
