Some of you may remember about 3 months ago that I had a thread announcing that due to various reasons, I was stepping away from BMX. $:-\$

The signs had been there, and a few things were winding me up etc etc.

Well, 3 months later, there are signs telling me that I need to give my head a wobble and stop being daft.

Firstly, loads of fellow members on here had messaged me here and on FB airing their concerns.

I've had a couple of good chats with Gashead.

I sorted out my issues with Carl

And had a good chat with Iain Willgas late last night.

But, one of the best things in the last few weeks to happen, was (not Leehunt getting banned) surprisingly, but it was when Rob - sorry can't remember your username, got in touch with me on FB telling me he had something I was looking for.

As a few of you know, my 1st BMX BITD was a 1985 Piranha Freestyler that I got bought for me aged 13 in July 1985. To be fair, they were a POS back then, made badly and were cheap, but as with many if us, you rode what your folks could afford. So, I did and fookin loved it.

Now, as I was knocking building bikes on the head, I decided to try to get a Piranha, as my going out build if you like, this is where Rob came in. He's got one and we've done a deal, so childhood build starting soon with luck.

But to add to this, I went to my mums this morning and we were sorting through old photos when I found this..,

A crap picture, one my old man took of the neighbours cat that I've chopped off, but my old bike was in the pic too, leaning against the wall under the kitchen window.

So, the build is on and I'm hoping that it will fuel my love again, who knows??

Good to see you back Dan. I dont think you can beat a first bike build. Holds so much more nostalgia than alot of the high end stuff most of us covet now

It's the fookin rat traps that I'm not impressed with, I'm sure I swapped them for Suntour XC's BITD, or similar. $:-\$

I met him Si, and he was an alright bloke, but there were 2 sides to him, the side that gave free bits out, and helped people out, the side he was when I met him. But, there was the side to him that just wanted to upset people. He was very thick skinned and from time to time, I'm not sure why, just wanted to stir things up.

I guess the Mods just had enough of him in the end.

It's coming this week Si. The bars and the frame will go for white powder, and I'll send the forks for a rechrome.

Excellent out of interest who do you use for chroming ?

I'll send them to chromefix.co.uk, used them 3 times and they were good.
