Chris is absolutely right - mid school should be about the experience (however i wasn't taking the piss ;))

So it should be about bmx in the 90s     .......http://bmxrestoration.co.uk/midschool/index.htm

with new categories emerging from ns, like 2000s, ... the beat goes on

This is my opinion Brothers.

It depends on the Make of bike, ie:

I consider all s&m's and Standards etc..  Mid-School onwards because the construction and geometry used.

Haro's etc..upto '97 were Old-School because the construction and geometry was just way behind anything that sort to progress these areas of bmx manufacter.

Haro Bashguards no matter what year are Old-School.

S&M Dirtbikes no matter what year are Mid-School.

I see where you're coming from Mr L

I thought the other stuff that signaled the end of mid and the start of new school were the move away from american bb, introduction of micro gearing, getting the bikes lighter and stronger instead of heavier and stronger.

I like the cut of your jib, but for fooks sake don't bump this thread anymore...please?. Mid schools Mid school, Old Schools Old School, and that 70's bike thing's that 70's bike thing. Doesn't matter when any of em started and ended - all it means depending on what era you build is you're either:

Really really old.
Really old.
Or just old.

Or confused.

To me, if I like a bike, I buy it, ride it and if it turns out crap to ride, I flog and get something else.

I gave up BMX in late '86 - early '87 for my RM125, Sex, Drugs and Booze. Nothing much BMX happened from then  :LolLolLolLol:
