Is the general consensus that these are more rare than say a Targa?

Well...??!
.

I only know of 3 Targa's Rich , I haven't scoured the museum but i bet there ain't many more  :-\  Alan thought he had the only one at one point .  Are you thinking of selling ??

Ha! No Joff,  I don't think I ever will!
But seeing as that seems to be an acceptable value for that VDC I presumed that something like the Targa would surely be of similar value... :-\
Forgive my ignorance but what is a targa

Torker were going to produce a lightweight frame at the tail end of 84/early 85 but as you know Steve had to close the business in late 84. They did however produce prototypes that the race team used...I believe Richie Anderson used one.

VDC's are ludicrously overpriced, they are an awful ride, tiny.

Aesthetically they are one of those love it or hate it kind of frame sets.

Isn't your whip of choice a Brompton? Doesn't quite qualify you for BMX frameset reviews now does it?  :LolLolLolLol:

Yes I would imagine a Changa long is far nicer to ride and is not tiny based upon it being long.

Alas the one I have is standard and I find it tiny.

trouble is rich rare doesn't always = money, really rare stuff that you can count known examples on one hand never seem to reach the values of more mainstream stuff. Remember the holeshot rf1 a while back, only one that's surfaced & seller wanted 1500 for a complete bike.. never heard if it sold though.
WANTED : 1" freestyle forks, uglier the better

Indeed, rare is not a prerequisite for high value.
I suppose to a certain degree it's quite subjective...

forgive me but when you used the word " They "  i just presumed you meant the whole range , i did try reading your mind to see if you were on about the standard changa and the word " They "  was a slip but alas cant pick much up when its overcast

...and what I have said is true.

The market audience for BMX bikes in the 80's was indeed for around the 12 year old age group.

How many threads do you see on this forum where members refer to BMX as being 'Kids Bikes'?

Sorry Rich, I was just confused as to how Brompton riders qualify to review VDC's and as to how 12 year old's can afford to buy them.  :daumenhoch:

Maybe Stella will come up with an educated answer in the thread he started on the Burner forum.  :LolLolLolLol:

I qualify to comment because I own and occasionally ride a VDC, thats all.
