GT Pro Frame and Forks

After reading a post in the for sale thread about said frames, why don't they seem to fetch much money

I agree they are an iconic race frame, however even Pro Burners seem to fetch more dosh.....

It could just be indicative of the financial situation.
I've also noticed that the early frames fetch less than the later 84-86 sets.

I have 2 frame sets and they are lovely. Perhaps they might become fashionable one day!

As above I reckon. From a mid-school perspective stuff comes in and out of popularity - WAL Riots went for peanuts a couple of years ago, some didn't even sell and now they go for a decent amount. Same with S&M 1" stuff, last year they went for top dollar, now they've dropped in price.

Guess it's whats down with the kids old farts as to what commands what price

They are one I remember from racing bitd, when I progressed from my ammaco

I'd saved my paper round/pocket money up and it was a toss up between getting a GT Pro or a Ripper

Still one of the best old school frames to ride 

I'm glad delray hit the dib dobs button because I would have loved another one

Mmmm, I have 3 / 4 of them and a couple of Nora's, as said, lovely to ride and one you would save for as a kid......

Three times heavier than a GT too. I struggled to sell my last '85 F+F for £200. Original chrome and decals too.

After watching Mick's '83 struggle for £180, I think I will hold onto the '85 I now have

I have said this everytime one has come up for sale since this site began, the GT should be top of the tree on par with Skyways n rippers, but they never have matched the prices others command. GTs (IMO, and ive never owned one) are one of the most iconic BITD track bike and one of the most beautifully put together frames ever. I do not have a clue why they are always too cheap and when they are, they don't shift quickly.

I bought my 83 GT Pro a while back now, I think it was my third bike to buildup . I have bought a few more bikes since and I have to admit when there all out in the Sun the GT gets the attention, it's my Favourite bike to ride and its  for me the most Iconic frame design no doubt.

To see this thread it also puzzles me in terms of values compared to other frame sets, I believe there worthy to be on par with the Rippers and the Skyways, they might even be better......

They are definately more 'wearing' than a Ripper IMO and I would say better to ride than a standard TA but I think the TA XL would be better.

I was having a good look over my '85 today thinking of parting it but am unsure now. It just looks so right, if you know what I mean

Maybe GT was also the most sold in that time, so still plenty availible still 

so maybe every one is having one already .  Or had 

Its not so desireble any more if you have already one

GT just ain't been hyped like other brands, huge amounts of frame sets sold bitd so was a wanted brand, now it just needs being sold to collectors this is the brand to have this month. Bit like VDC a few years ago
