Shoreham-by-Sea BMX Track and Gammans bike shop

Took a trip today over to Shoreham with my brother and my GT for a little trip down memory lane. The track is totally unrecognisable from back then 



It looks like they have just chucked a load of dirt here and there to cover up all the stones that were the nasty thing about the track. Those that rode here too can vouch for that I guess

Now, Gammans bike shop. Come out of the station, turn right over the railway lines then right into Gorden Road.




This is how it looked in the early 80's



and now, today






It was demolished in 1994 to give way to the houses you see and he moved round the corner. That has since been replaced by a childrens toy and clothes shop.

Never knew where the old track was but do now as I know those new blocks of flats also dirtyvans cleared most of the bmx stuff from gammons years ago now ie when stuff was cheap

Used to be down there loads, the bike shop and the take out were a lunch break then back for an afternoon sess. Broke so many acorns down there, never raced, just went for the scene, the crowd, and the jumps. Remember a pk landing on top of me once.  oh the day

Shame.   Still looks like a good place for kids to mess around though. Better than fcuk all.

I must have rode past there a few times, I've done the South Downs link cycle ride for Cancer Researce a few times & it looks like it goes right past there, thanks for sharing
