Freestyle quadangle resto / makeover
« on: September 11, 2013, 04:13 PM »
Hi chaps.
Got this lovely freestyle quad of energiza a couple of weeks back and owe him a big thankyou for keeping it for me despite many offers at MK13

I really wanted to do a red. black and gold build, so bought it in mind of getting it re powdered in red. It came back from the local powder coaters a couple of days ago, but unfortunatly, they wern't able to do a close match to the candy red I wanted and so I had to go over it with some of this stuff from the bay :idiot2:

It came out ok and it definatly darkened up the red colour a bit and the stuff dries within a couple of hours.. No match for a proper candy red or for a professional job by SBD, but for a rider, should be ok for now :D
Here she is drying in the kitchen ;)

I gave it a whole can of canbrush, and like a say, two hours later and some magic from del:

I am not 100% on the colour, but decided to carry on with it anyway, with the veiw to getting it ridden and then done in a proper candy red later on down the track. I have most of the parts now except a pad set, but here is a pic with a few more parts:

Will do the rest tomorrow :) Please add your comments and let me know what you think, good or bad ;)

I like that colour, waiting now to see the rest of the build? Don't rush it and put something else upside down. Haha.

Just need some inner tubes and some rubber washers, I have the chain, callipers and cables :) They should have 24 hour bike shops for these emergencies :) and I  got the chainwheel on the right side 1st time this time :daumenhoch: Bars were from Mario on here.

That's looking nice..!
My local supermarket is 24 hours and I've been there before at 4.15am for an innertube or two, you can also buy alcohol to wet the builds head when you've finished?
Haha.
