Quick seat clamp question
« on: September 12, 2013, 08:54 PM »
Do any seatclamps use an M6 sized bolt or are they generally the larger M8 sort of size?

Working on something special and not sure an M6 is up to the job  :-\
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Hmmmm Interesting. I recall seeing M6 bolts road bike clamps but couldn't remember any bmx stuff. Magic! could be very handy info that  :daumenhoch:

so generally speaking... an M6 bolt into a tapped ali body (no nut)

Yay or Nay for a seatclamp?

I have a `one off' seat clamp on my NS rider, which looks very `hutchesque' uses a standard size allen headed cap bolt (not turned down) which fits a 4mm allen key, so I reckon an M5 thread.

nips up nice and tight, never slipped even when my fat 14st ass lands badly on it!!

Tapped straight into the ally asnwell, no worries.
