WARNING : This is a message to all members whose email is in the database of Rainer's bikeshop. (Germany)

http://www.rainers-bike-shop.com/

I just received this from email : mr_garcia@att.net

It was titled : Help.................Dieter Schadowski

Quote
Hello,

This message is coming to you with great depression due to my state of discomfort. I came down here to UKRAINE for a short vacation but unfortunately, we were mugged and robbed at the park of the hotel where we stayed. All cash, credit cards and Mobile phones were stolen off us but  luckily for us we still have our lives and passports.

We've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all and our flight  leaves in less than 12hrs from now but we are having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let us leave until we settle the bills about $2,850 . Can you help us out? Get back to me immediately to let you know the easiest way to get the fund to me....

Thanks
Dieter
I just called Dieter on the phone and he told me there's nothing wrong with him, the email is from a scammer using his identity to steal your money. He's aware of this situation.

IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS EMAIL TOO DO NOT REPLY AND CERTAINLY DO NOT SEND MONEY OUT TO HELP !!

No - I've called Dieter on the phone and he was @ home in Germany.
If you will reply the email and you will offer your help , the scammer will ask for a Western Union payment.

I did the test and this is what I have received from another email : rainersbikeshop@yahoo.com

Got mine at 10:36 this morning but Mac mail threw it straight in the spam folder. The email address is bogus and we all know Dieter lives in Germany!

Scams like these have been going around for a few years, unfortunate thing is that some people do get caught out by it.  >:(
