Hey all,

Noob old guy here just starting to put together a daily rider, haha ok two daily riders ,ok maybe 3 cos i always wanted a goose so that's happening at some point.
Bit of background ,my heyday was between about 82 and 87,i had a Raleigh Grifter and all my mates were getting burners,if memory serves there was a tuff burner ,2 ultra burners and a super burner....and a dweeb still on a grifter....
I begged my dad for a bmx ,any burner didn't care which one,so after much pleading on my birthday he rocks up with a bmx....a generic one he bought from a petrol station...totally cheaped out and i was heart broken...it had a stand ,i mean seriously a stand! all my mates took the piss so mission rebuild began.I basically started saving all my paper round money and threw every spare bit of cash that came my way on to replacing every part of my crappy bmx. Then an advert in the bmx mag appeared .......DP firebird freestyler frame and forks....£70 ish if memory serves.
So to cut a long story short i ended up with a chrome  dp freestyler,i replaced every nut ,bolt, washer and ball bearing for what would now be considered some pretty nice kit i guess ,The old bike parts got thrown in a corner in a garage and i remember rebuilding it and selling it to my cousin thats how i know i replaced every single bloody item on the piece of crap my dad bought me !

So here i am again 30 years later with an itch.....and an old burner frame ....and of course a DP freestyler frame in the post to me as we speak  ;)

Thats it im done...bonjour!

I can't relate to that story at all.

We were stinking rich and father bought whatever I requested, providing latin was finished in time for supper.
