rear brake problem with my curtis freestyler
« on: August 29, 2013, 08:28 AM »
morning chaps,

Im restoring my freestyler and am having major issues fitting my rear brake (sounds simple!)

Im trying to fit MX901's.

first issue: trying to fit them normal way round, the rear standing loop interferes with the adjuster so I thought i'll reverse the brake around and put in on the underside where the chain I now rubbing against the arm of the brake.

There is a serious lack of room to adjust anything here!

I am thinking I may need to get a rear MX890?

any advice would be appreciated

Any chance of a pic?
I've just had a similiar problem on my son's Blank, there was a lot of head scratching, but I got there in the end.

I think you need mx 1000's mate or 880's as the adjusters  don't stick up so high.

I was going to suggest an 880, but too late.

Thanks for all the replys chaps,

Ive taken a look at dannys pic above and refitted the 901, its mighty tight, ive put on some clear brake pads to reduce the spacing a bit, did want to keep black ones on there though, will post pics once my layback arrives

thanks again

steve
