Are these bars Torker or something else?
« on: August 29, 2013, 03:16 PM »
Hi Guys.

Bought these bars at MK12, as I wanted a nice set of shiny bars for my assassin.

I got them from from a member on here who got them on a survivor Torker 280 complete, which he said he had no reason to believe wasn't `factory'.

Anyhoo, they have been sat here for a year or more now, and are surplus to my needs, but I wouldn't like to sell them without being certain, or at least have a reference for a potential buyer to peruse.

I asked a few people at MK the other week, as I have occasionally through the year, but no one can say for sure, the `genuine' ones I saw at MK were similar, but different in all cases, infact, none of the ones I saw were  a perfect match to mine, or each other.

This, I reckon, could be due to manufacturing differences in the early `80's, parts being sub contracted out, or simply different guys using different jigs in the same factory, who knows.

I'm not looking for any hate, just trying to get an experienced view on what they are, I had no experience of anything Torker in the old days. I would rather them finish a factory build than be sat here.

They will also be for sale at the end of this poll, pending the results, I have set it as an open poll for clarity.

And for the record, they cost me very little, but if they are Torker, I will be looking for a fair price, of which the member who let me have them, will get a slice, if I can locate him!! (fairs fair and all that)

Any way, here are the pics, they are un cut and measure 26 3/4-27" x 9" (centre to centre at the end of the bars, 8 1/2 at approx grip middle)

6 5/8's to crossbar, centre-centre

Ignore the sticker, I put that on last year!!
