Primo Rod or S&M Ram Rod
« on: August 25, 2013, 04:33 PM »
Question for the mid guys, What colour are the guts on a Primo Rod?
Bought a seat post from Harris at MK and didn't notice there was no guts, otherwise I would have looked a bit more closely in his box of bits.
Will have some more questions soon as I'm building my Night Train back up.

At the start they were black guts on chrome posts, and silver guts on black posts. Later versions came with black oxidised (bare metal) guts.

Early guts:

Later guts:

Pretty much any mico guts will work in them through.  :daumenhoch:

Cheers guys
The FBM is either 2000 or 2001.
I'm sure I've gut some rusty guts somewhere, Will give them a vinegar bath and wire wheel clean. :daumenhoch:

Have they always done black and chrome from the start? Or was it just chrome in the early days?

When new mine came with black steel guts for bigger 9mm railed seats(pr1mo hemorhoid) and alloy silver guts for standard 7mm seats

Old thread resurrection.
Ste posted in the wanted section for a Rod, So went digging and found mine.
Only just noticed that my chrome one is a 22.2mm version, Although there is no Rod logo and a S&M sticker on it.
Could it be a S&M Ram Rod?
Also anyone ever seen or possessed a layback version of a Primo Rod, Saw some images on Google

The one on the left is Primo Rod, Has the early Lion logo stamed on it
The one on the right is a Diamond Back Cactus post
The chrome one in the middle is the questionable one?
