Aero Araya to HF hubs??
« on: August 13, 2013, 02:12 PM »
Guys, if you have a set of Aero Araya rims laced to HF hubs, could you possibly measure the spoke length, from the bend to the thread tip (roughly) and tell me if it's 3 cross or 4 cross please, thanks.

I have followed the Rad guide, used the calculator and coming out with 176/177mm Rear/Front for 3 cross and 187/188mm Rear/Front for 4 cross.

I would just like to know what you are running and what your setup is  :daumenhoch:

Cheers,

Terry

Terry, I can confirm the 3x measurement is correct (176mm).

I just stripped a set down for a mate ready for polishing and they were defo 180mm on a 3 cross to large flange Suntour hubs  . The threads were right up to the end of the nipple though so a touch shorter would be perfect  ;)

This lad is good for custom length spokes  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BICYCLE-SPOKES-DT-Swiss-Any-length-any-quantity-4-1-20-stainless-steel-/251317305996?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item3a83adc28c#ht_918wt_1203   :daumenhoch:

I used that person for spokes only last week and all's good, great communication and had 108 spokes (in two sizes) custom cut on my doorstep within three days  8)

Also, if my memory serves me right, I laced the fore mentioned wheel set with 181's (back it the days before Sean's link to the 'spoke calculator') but they measure up at 176.
