splatter/marble/swirly paint....
« on: August 13, 2013, 07:08 PM »
Does anyone know if its possible to have a frame painted in the same way that some mid school GT's were painted?

Im restoring a 93 Vertigo and I really like some of the splattery marbley swirly whirly plasma paint that a lot were made in.  The frame I have is raw already so its a pretty blank canvas.

I dont have any photos to hand as im on my phone  :daumenhoch:

Do it yourself Gav  :daumenhoch: I fancy doing my other Decade in a spatter

Just make sure you pick the correct 3 or 4 colours so they look period rather than a heavy period  :LolLolLolLol:

Experiment with flicking toothbrushes, paintbrushes etc on some lining paper until you get the hang of the look you want  :daumenhoch:

Its a bit like csi miami  :LolLolLolLol: If you study the blood spatters you can sort of work out the angles and speed the paint was flicked at  :)

Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Ah that looks cool Clint! Definitely like that!  :daumenhoch:

Did you go for a baked clear coat after to seal it up nicely?  :daumenhoch:

You might have to wet n dry it before clear as I would think that paint will be really thick and bumpy?
