1994 S&Ms Handlebar help!
« on: August 06, 2013, 02:00 PM »
Hi guys relatively new on the site posted a few comments before but thats about it.
Anyways I have been waiting to finish some bikes before I posted anything but as we all know these things are never really finished!! ::)  I currently have two 94 S&Ms on the go a holmes and a dirtbike I'm pretty clued up on most of the parts for the bikes except the bars.
I have a 94 DIG thats helped me decide what was available at the time and its been really usefull for deciding how I want my bikes too look However I'm unclear what the slams of the day were like. My dirtbike currently has the slam dunk bars on it not sure if these are the right shape and feel very low with the head angle being so slack
Help is needed Bars dont have to be s&m tho even tempted to use some grandslam XLTS but may look too modern

Slam Dunks are '96-ish, to be era correct you want the Dancing Man Slams I think. Slams didn't change from the Dancing Man one's until recently (although the Slams before that'n are a bit random) and even then it's only the slightly lighter tubing that's changed - the geo's still the same since the Dancing Man's  :daumenhoch:

But go with what you feel comfortable with if you don't want era correct :)

I have 3 sets of Dancing man Slams and the height of the cross bar changes slightly from one to the other. Basically with anything S&M the more consistent the production runs the newer it is.  :LolLolLolLol:

Bit of an odd one that then - you sure some of yours ain't earlier and they're stickered up as Dancers? All mine (bar one with fooked up knurling) are the same.

I will get some pics for you. 2 sets are on bikes and one is loose so might be hard to compare but will do my best. All are OG dancing man.  :daumenhoch:

How typically S&M then  :LolLolLolLol:

The Dancers I've got (which are also original decals) match up perfectly with the later 90's ones.

Just measured them. 2 sets are approx 6" from the bottom of the knurling to the top of the cross bar. The third set is approx 6.5 from bottom of knurling to top of cross bar. Will get pics up in a bit. What do yours measure?
