kashimax dying with rit powder and liquid
« on: July 24, 2013, 09:13 AM »
Hi guys

going to dye my kashi tonight but wondered exactly how to do it. Ive read the resto bit about using rit dye and rit liquid and salt, simmer and leave in etc... but exactly what should I do?

Both rits all of it in pan; how much salt, how long and how hot etc??

Cheers guys

From my experience there's no exact science as to timing, just pull it out have a look and plop it back in  :-\

I've dyed quite a few things over the years and nothing's fool proof, just don't put the dyed item too close to an original as you will see the difference.
If there's air in the tyres... it's a rider

I used one rit, no salt, simmered it for somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes and that's it.
Rit is a lot more hardcore than dylon.
This was on one of those modern day kashi aero's. When they 1st became available on ebay black wasn't one of the options.
kashi's
A white one will go any colour you want.
All will go black.
A pink one will go red.
I think that's about it. I can't see a yellow one going blue, you need either neutral (white) or a colour from the same neck of the woods, ie as red and white make pink adding red dye to a pink one will make it go red. The yellow with blue added i imagine would go some sort of green shade.
