Best looking bars for a TA
« on: July 07, 2013, 04:39 PM »
I've got my White 84 TA near enough how I want it but wanted some opinions on the best looking bars to fit,I was thinking gt Santa ana pro bars as these look good on almost any build but price wise they seem to be around £150-£200 on eBay for a nice pair, what do you think guys? :daumenhoch:

most would say gt pro bars like many of the skyway team used, ive got gen 1 hutch on mine which look ok but gen 2's would really rock and be something different to the gt option, they are boxy like the gt's but are a touch classier being hutch :daumenhoch:

GT pro bars   :daumenhoch:

Should be able to get a nice set cheaper than that.

Like the others have already said GT pro bars but the other option could be CW pro bars as they where very commonly used on the factory TAs that where ridden by the Skyway pro riders and as seen on most of there adverts from back in the day.

I think they are Joff but without the split knurling. Who would know when mounted though  :)

These are originals.

Cheers Terry , are those og's yours ?  There worth a few quid .

Possibly the cross bar is mounted slightly lower but apart from that and the knurling it doesn't look like there's much in it . Might have to grab a set for my TA  8)

I only wish they were Joff  ;D  I lifted that picture off the museum mate.

For 60 bucks, I think they look great and they are full 4130 too. That's new school chrome bar money eh  ;)

Why would you buy components in order to fool people. ..?

Although it doesn't count if it's Bottema's...!

I don't see the issue with reproduction components if they are quality made. If you want to wait years and spend hundreds on a set of bars, that's your call. I like to ride my bikes and don't have years to wait for parts nor sit them in a corner collecting dust.

I do remember an issue of a set of Torker bars that you spent lots of money on, sent them for re-chroming, and now they are worthless.

These are £60 well spent, 4130 full cromo, made by Skyway and are nigh on exact to the originals. IMO, it's a no brainer  :daumenhoch:

What? I didn't say I have a problem with reissue.
You said who would know which is why I said why would you want to fool people. Specific items are purchased for self satisfaction not for the appraisal from others.

Who builds for the appraisal of others though? I merely put forward to Joff that these bars are suitable for a TA build, they are made by Skyway, they are full 4130 and If you don't want to spend over £250 on a set of bars, these could/would look the part on a TA  :daumenhoch:

When you are single and all your income is at your disposal, self satisfaction is fine but, when you have others who rely on you, £60 is not far off realistic, IMO that is  :)

I bought a white set Joff, before they were reduced to £60  >:(

They're really nice bars, made by Skyway. If you check out Adam's Skyway build below, he has a set on that and they look pretty nice to me  :daumenhoch:
