bb bearings

hey guys

so i have a us bb unsealed with a 3 pc crank to be fitted.

I seem to be getting conflicting searches on the bearing orientation...

basically, bearings facing out/cage on inside so the cone screws down on them works alot better than
bearings facing inwards/cage on the outside....

anyone actually know for sure or does it not actually matter

any help appreciated muchly

wponder why the surfaces mate togeather much better with the bearings facing the cone outwards rather than cup inwards
