Opinions needed please
« on: May 29, 2013, 07:32 PM »
Hey guys

I'm looking to run one of these on my next build  :daumenhoch:

But think they look a bit pants with standard chainrings  :-\

I want to expose as much of the slots as possible so hoping i can run something 130 bcd like this

Obviously these are designed for the smaller chains but can i run a larger chain on them or is there a bmx alternative to this chainring? :-\
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

???

All old school chain rings will take a standard 1/8 chain unless stated Clint. If you ran a 3/32 ring on the front, you would also need a 3/32 freewheel as the chain slots are too slim.

You can run a 1/8 chain on everything but the 3/32 chain is too thin to run an standard 1/8 freewheels and chainrings  :daumenhoch:

Cheers Terry  :daumenhoch:

Was just concerned the 1/8 chain may feel a little slack on a 3/32 ring and have some lateral movement  :-\

Why not put the chainring on the other side like Brett did on this one:

Try a tuf neck/ pro neck/ PPP non slotted chainring, generally look less pants!

No mate. I ran a 3/32 Suntour freewheel on my GT Pro Series which I got off JT. I looked into it before buying it as I was a little concerned over the sizes myself. All 3/32 gear will run a 1/8 chain mate, just not the other way.

The difference is not that great a deal tbh  :daumenhoch:
