70s concrete hustlers
« on: June 26, 2013, 11:14 PM »
Had to take a 12hr road trip with Jol 'The Crow' from Suffolk to Bath to deliver boxes.

We took our bikes ... just in case ... tried Bury St. Edmunds park ... P.O.S. ( apologies to Dannywhac )

Took a detour to avoid the M25 and went past Stevenage ... Jol thought there was a park there but I thought it had been wiped years ago ... wacked in the road to SatNav and arrived to catch a glimpse of 'that colour concrete' which could only mean a 70s park ... I got very excited ( which included driving out the 'in' road of the swimming pool with mothers waving fists at me ) ... and we had a half hour of the park to ourselves and 'being 16' again.

The sun shone.

Hopefully hooking up with Pickle and going back tomorrow  :)

Went to Yate as well to see what that was like ... never mind! take me back to the 70s!

:LolLolLolLol:  i nearly wore one of my Mission T's as well  ;D

What a superb day!  took the day off at the last minute and grabbed the train up to Stevenage (15 mins from my house) I lived in Bowes from about 82 through to 84 (and Knebworth R.I.P) and had the park to ourselves all morning..........it was superb!  great to see Ed and Jol and have a blast round the place  :4_17_5:

I then went on a BMX ride around all my old childhood haunts, a proper trip down memory lane...........riding round where i grew up was just like being 12/13 again.

A superb day!  i was buzzing all evening  :daumenhoch:

Cool pics  :daumenhoch: nice to see that park again, I don't think I've been there for nearly 20 years! I might be getting muddled up here but does it still flood out easily, I'm sure it used to be under water most of the time?
